Overview

Buscopan or Hyoscine is included in the medications group called antispasmodics. Buscopan’s main objective is to overcome the smooth muscle spasms or cramps which take place in the stomach, intestines, bladder, and urethra. Buscopan is an effective treatment for the spasms by relaxing the muscles in the affected area. The product commonly comes in two different types: Buscopan injection, and Buscopan Tablets.

The Buscopan, whether in the injection or Buscopan tablets, have the same benefits. However, the application will depend on the doctor’s consent.

The medication itself can be under multiple brands names. Not all brands provide both forms of the medication.
It is important to take this medication based on your doctor prescription. Buscopan Tablets

The Buscopan Tablets form is the most common one. The tablet’s form is usually round, white, and sugar-coated. Meanwhile, each mL of injection contains 20 mg of hyoscine butylbromide, water, and other non-medical ingredients.

Dosage

The usual dosage for adult consumers is usually 1 or 2 x 10 mg tablets per day. For a certain condition, you will need to take this more regularly. The usual dosage is 1 tablet, 3 to 5 times per day. The maximum dose for adults is 6 tablets on a daily basis. Of course, the prescription from your doctor is the most crucial one. There are some factors which can affect the differences of the dosage such as the body weight, medical conditions, staking with the other medications, diet, and so on. Your doctor may or may not change the dose of the medicine based on the several factors mentioned before.

Possible side effects
