Detoxification can be defined as a medical procedure in which the toxins that accumulate in the body are removed through the process of eliminating these toxins. Detoxification is basically the medicinal or physiological removal of toxins from the body that is mainly performed by the liver. Toxins are dangerous substances that can result to serious health disorders like cancer and many more. In fact, many health problems can be reversed by doing detoxification procedures regularly.

However, all these substances can be eliminated if proper detoxification programs are undertaken regularly. Detoxification diets can help in fast elimination of these substances if a person only knows the right foods to avoid and the right amount to take.

Processed foods can contain a lot of toxins as they are mostly made of high sugar, refined white flour, white rice and white meat such as chicken and turkey. Foods that are high in sugar can trigger rapid weight gain, hunger pangs, lack of energy, lack of sleep, irritability and dehydration. Refined white flour foods can also cause diarrhea and nausea which may trigger detoxification to begin. It has been found that people who eat a lot of processed foods tend to become obese and have a high percentage of heart diseases, cancer and diabetes.
