The History of Fashion Clothing

Fashion clothing is one area of high importance for both men and women. It is also a popular area for advertising. One of the most interesting areas is fashion clothing as a niche market. The fashion industry includes a wide variety of products and categories. Some categories are extremely popular, while others, such as children’s wear are not. In general, fashion trends come and go in cycles and fashion clothing is no exception to that rule.

For years fashion clothing was an area of high interest from consumer research. Then, it was discovered that fashion clothing influence fashion consciousness. Finally, the findings suggest that fashion consciousness in fact influences consumer behavior when making buying decision about fashion. For instance, if consumers feel like they look good or even feel like they are cool, they will consider certain purchases, such as fur coats, for example. Fur coats were worn by early fur coats were considered fashionably cool in the 1920s.

The research also indicates that the popularity of 1930s fashions and looks began to decline in the face of increasing unemployment and working class backlash against industrialization. Fashions at this point were being seen as a sign of middle class affluence, which contributed to the increased prosperity that came with the New Deal. A movement to save America’s “greatest riches” began and eventually became a Depression-proof economy. The Great Depression of the 1930s was an unfavorable time for those who sought economic comfort. As seen through the findings of this research, women started to reevaluate their fashion sense.

Women’s fashion began to change again in the 1950s. Again, this was during a period of great economic downturn. As the current fashion style became more popular, women started to identify themselves as fashion conscious. By the end of the 1960s, the average age of the baby boomer generation was rising, and women started to look forward to the fashion trends of the past and the styles of the future.

In the 1970s, women were no longer wearing frilly party dresses and baggy clothes. Instead they were now sporting suits and stylish, fitted dresses. Shirts with high necklines and bias cut details were also worn. Women competing in the 1970s were no longer looking back on past trends, but looking forward to the new ones.

Today’s fashion industry is considered to be much more fun than the industry was when it first began. This means that there are far more opportunities for women to wear the latest styles and fashions. Women can compete with one another to see who has the newest, trendiest clothing available. Those who choose to wear vintage or 1930s dresses can do so proudly. It is one of the few fashion styles that is still being worn today.
